Boston Brains

The Daily Beast has rounded up the smartest cities in the USA, and Boston tops the list this year… but not if you ask the Metro.

The front page of this morning’s Metro claimed that Boston came in 3rd place in the smarts department. It seems they mistakenly used the 2009 rankings as a reference. I have to wonder – how many Bostonians are  walking around today, lamenting their third place brains (I mean, who cares about the Bronze) when they really should be rejoicing?

Smartest place on Earth?

Joking aside, let’s see some better fact checking from the Metro.

And props to Boston for being the brainiest, most nonfiction-reading city in America!

NOTE: The Metro has updated the online version of the article to reflect the real standings.
