New York Times Validates eBooks

The New York Times book lists have long been the standard of author-success and brick-and-mortar bookseller boon. But with a recent announcement, the publication has given an important nod to booksellers of the virtual nature…

Beginning in 2012, the Times will include ebook rankings – both fiction and nonfiction – in addition to the 14 other weekly book lists.

RIP printed word - long live e-readers?

And both authors and online book sellers are taking notice of the publishing form’s growing popularity!

How this will impact the reputations – and revenues – of ol’ trusty chains like Borders and our favorite independent booksellers remains to be seen. But I can already sense Amazon, Sony and Apple’s “e-excitement!”

My Kindle is standing by – bring it on!
